2023 Elections: Reps committee chair Aliyu loses re-election bid in Jigawa
The Chairman, House of Representative Committee on Power of the 9th Assembly, representing Birnin Kudu/Buji Constituency in Jigawa State, Hon Magaji Da’u Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has lost his reelection bid.
The serving lawmaker lost his reelection bid to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate Yakubu Adamu.
Adamu scored the highest number of votes, 42,186 to defeat All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Dau Magaji Aliyu, who scored 40,260, and New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, candidate, Ali Abdullahi who scored 103.
Returning officer for the constituency, Dr. Kuatama of Federal University, Dutse stated this while announcing the results.
